On Sunday, I met up with Melissa Evans of Retro Vixen and her husband for brunch at Happy Gillis. The restaurant launched their summer menu this past Wednesday, and there were new things to try. I ordered the Huevos con Chilorio, with fluffy scrambled eggs instead of sunny side, while Melissa’s hubby had it the “real” way. Melissa ordered the Cello-esque BLT, named after a regular at the restaurant. The food was great; the Huevos is pretty substantial, but I like that on Sundays because I wasn’t hungry until dinner! We sat inside since we’re both pale and like air conditioning, but lots of people were sitting outside, and we stepped around the corner on Pacific for pictures.

Watching the potentially threatening wasp-like creature that tried to join the party.

My dress is by Bettie Page, my purse is vintage from a local thrift store, Melissa got my necklace for me at an antiques auction, and sunglasses are H&M. Melissa’s dress is vintage from Rock Candy Boutique, which happens to be right next to Retro Vixen on 39th Street. Her hat is from Forever 21, and purse is Lux de Ville, a brand she carries in her store.

No shoe pictures this time, which is a shame, next time I will be a better photo director.
