Recently I mentioned on Facebook that I often get questions from friends and followers about style and beauty. Because of this I thought it would be fun to answer some of these questions as an occasional series here on the blog.
So, the lovely pinup model Valerie Voiture recently asked me about liquid leggings. I didn’t hop on the legging trend until this Fall, because my lower body is not that of the svelte gazelles who model these things. I finally gave in though because they do work great under skirts and I have amassed quite a collection of tunics which are also easy and fun. For me it’s a great way to mix things up when I am tired of wearing jeans everyday this time of year, and bare legs are not an option.
So, I’ve rounded up some legging options from some online shops that I know to offer quality stuff.
I think these shiny, high waisted leggings from American Apparel which come in a ton of colors are fabulous because you can do that 1950′s, John Waters’ Cry Baby kind of retro look, or wear with a tunic and know that you’re rear will remain covered. The black eel color is really great.
Here’s a cool snake embossed pair from Guess. Those of you who follow my Frock Friday posts know how I love to wear all black, but textures like this keep things from seeming boring or too basic.
For those who don’t like leather, or don’t like the price of leather, here’s a fabulous looking but still affordable pair of faux leather leggings from Blank Denim.

One more note, I can’t find any shiny options now, but I have several pair of Victoria’s Secret’s leggings and they are affordable and pretty opaque. Plus they come in tons of colors.
